Simson Suhl German Double rifle in 45-70 Government
Built in the late fifties or early sixties this is a Heavy rifle with 26″ barrels, quarter rib with one standing leaf adjustable for windage and removable “caterpillar” type front sight. Two bottom lumps and Greener bolt lock. Top and bottom extended tangs with metal grip cap. Beautiful European walnut stock 24 LPI checkering, shadow line cheek piece and Silvers recoil pad. LOP is 14-1/4″ from rear trigger.
Metal condition is a good 98% with perfect bore.
Wood is 97% very minimal sign of use.
The rifle was test fired by us and it grouped under 2-1/2″ with standard factory ammo at fifty yards,
Our feeling is that, judging from the way this rifle was built, it can probably handle much more powerful loads.
